Candida Albicans: Why it can be So DANGEROUS

Candida Albicans is a form of yeast, which is a causal agent of opportunistic yeast infections in humans. Approx, 24 types of Candida fungi are considered to be recognized causes of Candida yeast infection in humans, yet the majority of  yeast infections (especially vaginal and oral yeast infections) are caused by Candida albicans.

Candida Albicans, just like bacterial and fungal bugs, naturally reside in the gut, as well as other parts of the human body. These bacteria are essential for the digestion process and for the absorption of micronutrients, such as glucose, fatty acids and amino acids. However, when Candida albicans shifts form yeast to fungal form it can invade the bloodstream through the damaged mucous membranes within the gastrointestinal tract, leading to local or even systemic yeast infections.

When they manifest locally, Candida infections can lead to painful sensation, itching and burning, unusual discharges and rash in the infected area (genitals, skin, mouth etc.). Systemic yeast infection symptoms include allergies, severe digestive problems, sinusitis, sugar cravings, muscle pain, and chronic fatigue. All subtypes of Candida infections can be extremely annoying, affecting the quality of one’s life in a negative way.

Candida Albicans grows out of control due to the unset of several environmental and lifestyle factors that also negatively affect the body’s natural internal balance and vise versa. The human body’s internal equilibrium, which is necessary to keep Candida Albicans in normal levels, can be violated due to:

1.      Unhealthy dietary habits (the intake of refined carbohydrates, alcohol, soy products, yeasty foods etc). All these foods feed Candida Albicans, and contribute to the creation of the intestinal environment that encourages candida overgrowth.

2.      Certain drugs, namely antibiotics, birth control pills, steroids etc., are notorious for contributing to a Candida Albicans overgrowth within the intestinal tract by killing the friendly protecting bacteria in the gut.

3.      Stressful lifestyle and insufficient sleeping hours, which also contribute to the overall weakening of the immune system.

4.      Neglected mild and/or local Candida infections.

5.      Hormonal imbalance and toxic overload.

In order to prevent and/or cure a Candida Albicans overgrowth, the above-mentioned factors must be tackled first and foremost. The only approach that provides the adequate means to cure and prevent yeast infections permanently is the holistic approach. The holistic approach is aimed at overcoming Candida overgrowth by focusing on its underlying contributing conditions, such as weakened immune system, hormonal imbalance, toxic overload, and loss of friendly bacteria. By taking specific herbal and vitamin supplements while following a complete set of dietary principals and Candida control protocols, you can tackle the internal factors that lead to candida infection, thus eradicate and prevent candida infection recurrence.
