Different
species of Candida.
Candida
has around 154 species. Out of these, six of the Candida
species result in infections that are relatively easy to
deal with. The most significant cause of Candida
infection is the specie Candida albicans. But the other
species of Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata, Candida
parapsilosis, Candida krusei, and Candida lusitaniae
contribute to increase your problems in the body if
their numbers rise beyond control. These different
species, apart from Candida albicans, add to the
expansion of these infections.
Candida
infections are called candidiasis and they are caused by
a number of host factors like unhealthy diet, genetic
factors, stress, weak immune or even the intake of

commonly caused by the Candida
albicans.
Different
types of Candidiasis
There
is an increasing incidence of infections caused by C.
glabrata, which could be because it is less susceptible
to the currently used azole antifungals. Other medically
important Candida species include C. parapsilosis, C.
tropicalis, and C. dubliniensis.
The
parent types of Candida are Candida parapsilosis,
Candida tropicalis – these can also cause infection.
Candida vini. candidiasis usually includes mouth
conditions, nosocomial infections, vaginal conditions,
skin conditions and esophagus related diseases. The sub
types of the infection are: cutaneous candidiasis( skin
candidiasis) , thrush – (mouth infection), vaginal
candidiasis , penile candidiasis (less common but
possible in men), Pulmonary candidiasis (lung
infection), Esophagus candidiasis, Invasive candidiasis
(severe type mostly in immune suppressed patients),
Atrophic candidiasis (oral infection), Chronic
mucocutaneous candidiasis, Endocardial candidiasis and
Paronychia (affecting the nails.)
The infections or candidiasis are usually a combination of a weak immune system along with other factors that support the growth of candida albicans present in the human flora. The recent addition in the Candida specie which causes candidiasis is candida glabrata. With the ever increasing population of immune compromised folks, trends have shown Candida glabrata to be a highly opportunistic pathogen of the urogenital tract, and of the bloodstream. It is especially prevalent in HIV positive people, and the elderly.
